RAB Seizes Arms Cache, Arrests Four in Pabna Raid

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four individuals and recovered a significant cache of illegal firearms and ammunition during a pre-dawn raid in Pabna's Ishwardi upazila on Monday, July 6.

The suspects, all residents of the Ruppur area, have been identified as Supta Islam Jibon (26), Chanchal Islam Nirob (26), Badhan Islam (23), and Shakil Hossain (30).

According to Lt. Cmdr. BN Wahiduzzaman, Company Commander of the RAB-12 Pabna Camp, the operation was launched in the Char Ruppur area at around 4:00 a.m. based on an intelligence tip-off.

During the operation, RAB personnel confiscated one foreign-made pistol, five rounds of ammunition, three magazines, five barrels, three switchblade knives, an electric stun gun, and 100 airgun cartridges. Additional seized items included nine mobile phones, 11 SIM cards, and two motorcycles allegedly used by the suspects.

The arrestees have been handed over to the Ishwardi Police Station. A formal criminal case has been registered, and the suspects will be produced before a court to be remanded to jail.
