


A 42-year-old van driver Nasher Ali, was killed by unidentified attackers in Chatmohar, Pabna, on Wednesday night (July 8).
The incident occurred around 10:30 PM near the Boyalmari graveyard, confirmed Chatmohar Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Naser Munshi. The victim was a resident of Agshoyil Toltalipara village in the upazila’s Haripur union.
According to police and locals, Nasher was returning to Chatmohar after dropping off passengers in Chaikola. Attackers intercepted him near the graveyard, stabbed him, and slit his throat before fleeing. The severely injured driver managed to reach a nearby house, knocked on the door, and collapsed. He died at the scene.
Following reports from residents, police recovered the body and notified the victim's relatives, who later confirmed his identity. The body has since been sent to the Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
ASP Naser Munshi stated that early investigations suggest the murder was a hijacking attempt. However, police recovered the victim's auto-van at the scene. Authorities are actively investigating the incident to identify and apprehend the suspects.
