Pabna: Two Illegal Saline Factories Fined, One Sealed

The District Consumer Rights Protection Department fined two illegal saline factories Tk 45,000 and sealed a third during a series of raids in Pabna on Tuesday.

The afternoon drives targeted S.T. Food and Beverage in the Banglabazar area and Pabna Food and Beverage in the municipal area.

Mahmud Hasan Roni, Assistant Director of the district department, stated that both facilities had been producing unregulated saline for a long time, posing severe health risks to the public. Because the owners failed to produce valid legal documentation, authorities fined the two businesses a combined Tk 45,000. All seized saline was immediately destroyed.

Earlier that morning, officials raided a third factory, Unisal Food Beverage, also located in Banglabazar. The facility was permanently sealed for illegally manufacturing and distributing saline, though no monetary fine was issued.
