


At least three people were injured when a crude bomb exploded at a National Citizen Party (NCP) rally in Savar on Monday night.
The blast occurred around 9:45 pm at the Savar Thana Stand Eidgah Ground, disrupting the party's "July Awakening to Build the Nation" march. The explosion happened despite a heavy police presence deployed at the venue.
According to NCP central leader Yasir Arafat, the bomb went off while Dhaka district Convener Nabila Tasnid was addressing the crowd. Senior party leaders including Convener Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhter Hossen and Chief Organiser Sarjis Alam were on stage at the time of the attack.
The injured were identified as Md Shahin Khandakar (30), Md Jasim (26) and Md Shahadat Hossain (40). All three were rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital for treatment. Shahin reportedly sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalised.
Police have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident or identified any suspects. Following the explosion, the NCP's Dhaka South unit immediately announced a protest procession to condemn the violence.
