Shantiganj Observes National Rural Development Day with Rally and Tree Planting

Shantiganj Upazila in Sunamganj observed National Rural Development Day on Monday with a public rally, a discussion meeting, and a tree planting initiative. This year’s theme was "Developed Village, Prosperous Country - Bangladesh First."

Organized jointly by the Upazila Parishad and the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), the day began with a colorful rally through the main roads of Upazila Sadar. Following the procession, participants planted various tree saplings across the Upazila Parishad premises.

Upazila Rural Development Officer Asimbaran Talukder chaired the subsequent discussion meeting at the Parishad Hallroom. Key speakers addressing the public included Upazila Agriculture Officer Ahbab Habib and Shantiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Oliullah.

The program concluded with the distribution of diverse tree saplings to local cooperative beneficiaries, reinforcing the day's focus on sustainable rural growth.
