A new Fertilizer buffer warehouse of the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) was inaugurated in Faridpur on Monday, aimed at ensuring a steady and timely supply of Fertilizer to farmers in the district and surrounding areas.
Faridpur-3 MP Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf Ahmed formally opened the facility at Dhalar intersection in Tepakhola by unveiling a plaque on Monday afternoon.
"There is no alternative to agriculture for food security," the MP said at the inauguration. "Timely Fertilizer supply is essential for increasing production. This warehouse will strengthen our storage and distribution system so farmers can get what they need without any crisis."
He added that the government is working to modernise the supply chain for agricultural inputs, and that the new warehouse is part of that broader effort.
According to BCIC, the warehouse will allow faster distribution of Fertilizer to Faridpur and nearby districts, with greater storage capacity expected to improve supply management efficiency.
District Council Administrator Afzal Hossain Khan Palash, District BNP Member Secretary A.K. Kibria Swapan, and Jubo Dal leader Benazir Ahmed Tabriz attended as special guests. BCIC Project Director Manjurul Islam, local public representatives, government department officials, and agriculture sector stakeholders were also present.
