Government Appoints New Chairmen to NCTB and Five Education Boards

The government on Monday appointed new chairmen to the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and the secondary and higher secondary education boards of Dhaka, Jessore, Rajshahi, Comilla and the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education issued the appointment notifications on 8 June.

Professor Mohammad Fakhrul Maula, vice-principal of Chittagong Commerce College has been appointed chairman of the NCTB. Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, controller of examinations at the Mymensingh Education Board will head the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

Shamim Ara Chowdhury, previously serving as board secretary, has been appointed chairman of the Rajshahi board. Md. Ahsan Parvez, principal of Debidwar Government SS College, takes charge of the Comilla board.

Professor Farukh Azam Md. Abdus Salam principal of Haji Muhammad Mohsin College in Khulna has been named chairman of the Jessore board. Professor Khondaker Mohammad Sadekur Rahman secretary of the Comilla Education Board has been appointed chairman of the Madrasa Education Board.
