Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the traditional football rivalry has taken over Bheramara. Fans have transformed GK Bridge No. 3 into a vibrant display of allegiance, hanging massive flags of Brazil and Argentina on opposite sides of the structure.
The bridge is now a visual divide. One end is draped in Argentina's iconic blue and white, while the other is covered in Brazil's green and yellow. This colorful, peaceful competition has sparked excitement among locals, turning the bridge into a popular gathering spot for football enthusiasts.
Local residents Mamun and Rashid shared their excitement over the festivities but emphasized the need for caution. "These celebrations bring joy to the community, but we hope the rivalry remains friendly and doesn't lead to any unpleasant incidents," they noted, urging fans to keep the banter peaceful.
With the World Cup kicking off in just a few days, such displays highlight Bangladesh's deep-rooted passion for global football. As fans prepare for a month of late-night matches, the message from the Bheramara community remains clear: enjoy the beautiful game, support your team, and prioritize peace.
