The Lions Club of Chittagong Central has officially inaugurated its fourth permanent service project, marking a significant expansion of its humanitarian footprint in the region. The facility was inaugurated by IPDG Lion Kohinoor Kamal, who attended as the chief guest.
The event featured the launch of a Technical and Vocational Training Center, a Free Friday Clinic, and a comprehensive health camp. During the inauguration, over 500 patients received free medical services, including eye examinations, diabetic screenings, blood grouping, and blood pressure monitoring.
Furthermore, 70 patients were provided with free general consultations and medicine, while 25 individuals were selected for cataract surgeries to be performed at the Lions Hospital.
Key district leaders, including First Vice District Governor Lion Kamruzzaman Liton and Second Vice District Governor Lion Abu Bakar, attended as special guests. While District Governor Lion Masleh Uddin Ahmed Apu was unable to attend the ceremony due to official business in Dhaka, he visited the venue a day prior to review the preparations and commended the club’s consistent dedication to social welfare.
The project was organized under the supervision of Lion Mujibul Mannan, Tofazzal Hossain, and IPP Hanifa Nazib Hena. Club members expressed confidence that these permanent facilities will provide long-term sustainable support to the underprivileged community in Chittagong.
