Despite the recent hike in fuel prices, long queues persist at oil pumps across Pabna. Since the new rates took effect at midnight, consumers have been waiting for hours to collect diesel, octane, and petrol.
Under the government’s new pricing, petrol is now 135 TK, octane 140 TK, and diesel 115 TK per liter. While pumps began selling at these adjusted rates immediately, the crowds have not thinned.
Out of the 32 pumps in the Pabna district, a significant number remain closed, worsening the situation. Drivers and vehicle owners have been seen lining up since early morning at the few operational stations.
Frustrated customers noted that while they have accepted the price increase, the supply remains inadequate. "We are willing to pay the higher price, but we want relief from these hours of waiting," said one driver. Consumers are now demanding a steady supply to the pumps to end the current shortage and public suffering.
