The government has increased the retail prices of diesel, kerosene, octane, and petrol in line with global market trends. The new prices take effect nationwide from Sunday, April 19.

The announcement came in a press release issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

According to the release, the revised prices per litre are: octane Tk 140, petrol Tk 135, kerosene Tk 130, and diesel Tk 115.

The ministry said all filling stations and distributors must sell fuel at these fixed rates starting Sunday.

Previously, fuel prices were lower. An office order issued on March 31 set April prices at Tk 100 per litre for diesel, Tk 112 for kerosene, Tk 116 for petrol, and Tk 120 for octane. These rates were also maintained during February and March.

Earlier this year, prices were reduced by Tk 2 per litre in January and again in February.
