The 2.3-kilometer road connecting Gadaipur’s Boalia intersection to Boalia Bridge in Paikgachha has fallen into severe disrepair creating a dangerous daily hurdle for thousands of commuters. Stripped of its surfacing and riddled with massive potholes, the road has become a muddy, waterlogged trap following recent rains.

This route is a vital artery linking Paikgachha Sadar to Raruli, Dargahpur, and neighboring Satkhira, while also serving travelers heading to Khulna city. Located next to the BADC Boalia Seed Production Farm the road is heavily relied upon by farmers, students, traders, and emergency services.

Locals report immense daily hardships. Pedestrian Ibadul Morol noted that simply walking the road ruins clothing due to splashing mud. Student Chayan Mondal highlighted the physical dangers, stating that passenger vans frequently overturn in the potholes causing injuries and spreading fear among students traveling to exams.

For transport workers like van driver Ruhul Quddus, the battered road destroys vehicle parts, draining their meager daily earnings on mechanic fees. Furthermore, transporting critical patients to the hospital over the jarring surface has become a life-threatening challenge.

Acknowledging the crisis Paikgachha Upazila Engineer Shafin Shoaib stated "We have inspected the road's condition. Considering the public suffering official measures are underway for swift repairs."

However anxious residents are demanding that authorities move past bureaucratic assurances and begin immediate physical reconstruction to prevent a major tragedy.
