PM Tarique Rahman Visits Daffodil Pavilion at Dhaka Summit

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the Daffodil Computers pavilion at the Semiconductor Symposium and BEAR Summit 2026 in Dhaka on Saturday highlighting the government’s focus on locally manufactured technology.

Accompanied by ICT Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam and ICT Adviser Rehan Asif Asad, the Prime Minister inspected DCL Hi-Tech’s laptop and hardware manufacturing operations at the Bhashani Novotheatre. He praised the initiatives and stressed the importance of promoting the "Made in Bangladesh" brand in global markets.

During the visit Daffodil Group Chairman Professor Dr. Md Sabur Khan presented several technology-based solutions developed by Daffodil International University students suggesting these innovations could efficiently support government development projects.

Professor Khan also proposed reviving the national ICT Task Force—originally established in 2001—to accelerate the growth of Bangladesh's technology sector. Prime Minister Rahman assured him that the proposal would receive due consideration and accepted an invitation to visit the Daffodil Hi-Tech Park.

The pavilion showcased a wide range of advanced locally developed technologies. Highlights included DCL Hi-Tech's electronics manufacturing processes Daffodil Robotics' AI and automation projects and student-led initiatives in cybersecurity IoT and extended reality. Additionally Daffodil Software displayed innovative AI tools including the "AI Professor".

Daffodil Computers stated that its participation in the summit aims to strengthen collaboration among policymakers universities investors and the broader tech industry.
