


A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a bus at the mouth of the Shah Amanat Bridge in Chattogram.
The tragic accident occurred on Wednesday (December 17) at around 11:30 pm before the toll plaza of the Karnaphuli Thana section of the bridge.
The deceased motorcyclist, Md. Farid (45), is said to be a resident of Haringkhain village in Patiya upazila. He was returning home from Chaktai in Chattogram city after completing business work.
Eyewitnesses said that on the way back from the city, the Hanif bus (Dhaka Metro B 14-4296) lost control and hit a motorcycle and a Mahindra taxi in front. At the same time, the motorcycle entered the bus and the biker was crushed under the bus.
The driver died on the spot. Several passengers in the Mahindra were seriously injured. They were later sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital by locals.
The bus driver is reported to have fled immediately after the incident.
