Addressing the discussion as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam said, “The Great Liberation War is the foundation of our national identity. This independence, achieved through the blood of millions of martyrs, is not merely a territory—it is a symbol of justice, humanity, and self-respect. Inspiring the new generation with the spirit of the Liberation War and engaging them in nation-building is the key commitment of this day.”
He further added, “Universities must serve as centers of free thought, where history and patriotism are reflected in students’ values and consciousness. Everyone must play a responsible role from their respective positions in building the Sonar Bangla envisioned by Shaheed Ziaur Rahman.” Special guest Treasurer Professor Md. Abdul Latif was also present at the discussion. On the occasion, a Liberation War–themed drawing competition for children was organized at Srijoni Bidyaniketan at 11:00 am. In addition, sports competitions and friendly matches were held at the university’s central playground until 12:30 pm, generating great enthusiasm among students. In the afternoon, a special prayer and supplication (Doa and Munajat) was offered at the university’s central mosque, seeking eternal peace for the martyrs and prosperity for the nation. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam, along with members of the university community, took part in the prayers.
