Leaders and activists of the District BNP in Lalmonirhat undertook a significant voluntary initiative to renovate the long-neglected playground of the historic M.T. Hossain Institute, originally built during the British era.
BNP leaders and activists, including members of Krishak Dal, Jubo Dal, and Sramik Dal, spent Tuesday afternoon and much of the day bringing truckloads of soil, leveling the surface, and removing debris through manual labor. The field was then made suitable for play using rollers.
The renovation work was inaugurated by Principal Asadul Habib Dulu, the BNP Central Committee Rangpur Divisional Organizing Secretary. Locals reported that the field in the Tumolpara area had been unusable for years due to neglect. It was plagued by large holes, accumulated rainwater during the monsoon, and had become a hangout spot for drug addicts, forcing children to stop playing.
Residents expressed great happiness and thanked the BNP for the renovation, noting that their previous appeals to the District Commissioner had gone unanswered. Principal Asadul Habib Dulu stated that the renovation was a direct effort to "keep the youth away from drugs," emphasizing that sports and cultural activities keep the younger generation on the "right path." He also criticized the current "fugitive fascist Awami League government" for failing to renovate the vital field over the past 14 years.
Prior to starting the work, BNP leaders and activists offered prayers for the recovery of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
