Special prayer meeting has been held to pray for the speedy recovery and good health of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
On Tuesday (December 2, 2026) at 1 PM, a discussion meeting and special prayer meeting were organized by the temple management board at the Nat Mandir premises of the city's Lakshmi Pasha Sri Sri Siddheshwari Kalimata Temple.
Lohagara Upazila BNP President Md. Ahaduzzaman Batu spoke at the discussion meeting chaired by Tapan Biswas, former treasurer of the Sri Sri Siddheshwari Kalimata Temple Management Committee, and moderated by journalist Rupak Mukherjee.
Among others present at the time were Lohagara Upazila BNP General Secretary Kazi Sultanuzzaman Selim, Municipal BNP General Secretary Md. Moshiar Rahman Santu, Organizing Secretary SA Saifullah Mamun, Upazila Puja Udjavan Front Convener Khokon Kundu, Member Secretary Pradeep Chowdhury, Upazila Puja Udjavan Board General Secretary Gautam Dewan, Organizing Secretary Arup Chakraborty, Municipal Puja Udjavan Front President Kishore Roy, Municipal Puja Udjavan Front President Gautam Saha, members Palash Guha Bishnu, Sadhan Karmakar, Roop Kumar, Sri Sri Jagannath Temple Management Committee General Secretary Nipu Chakraborty, Municipal Jubo Dal Senior Joint Convener Sohel Rana Laxmi, Saiful Islam, former Municipal Chhatra Dal Convener Riazul Islam Munna and others.
At the end of the meeting, the temple's chief priest Sukanta Chatterjee Biplob and prominent religious figure Palash Chakraborty Madan led a prayer for the speedy recovery and good health of former Prime Minister and national leader Begum Khaleda Zia through the recitation of the Holy Gita.
More than a thousand devotees and fans attended the prayer meeting held.
