Bangladesh Nagorik Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwary asserted that his party will not be compromised by "Awami League money" pledging instead to stand directly with the people to drive meaningful state reforms.
He made these remarks during a road meeting organized by the local NCP unit at the Battali intersection in Phulbari municipality, Dinajpur on Saturday evening.
Expressing deep disappointment over unfulfilled national promises, Patwary stated "We were assured of state reforms, systemic changes and swift justice for the Awami League's actions. But while we wait in hope, the implementation has stalled." He claimed that the dream of a discrimination-free nation for which martyrs like Abu Sayeed sacrificed their lives has been shattered over the past two years.
Outlining the NCP’s political vision, Patwary firmly distanced the party from traditional political corruption. "We will go to the people. We will not bid for tenders, we will not occupy bus stands and we will not compromise our national interests with India" he declared. "Our goal is a Bangladesh that guarantees youth employment, stops border killings and ensures the absolute safety of women, scholars and the Hindu community."
He also emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive police, military and economic reforms, alongside targeted initiatives to improve living standards in the marginalized northern region.
Prior to the meeting NCP held a procession that commenced at the Dhaka intersection and paraded through major city roads before concluding near the Chhota Jamuna Bridge.
The event was attended by prominent NCP figures, including Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Chief Organizer for the Northern Region Sarjis Alam, Kurigram-2 MP Dr. Atiq Mujahid and other regional coordinators.
