


Bangladesh is grappling with a severe measles outbreak, with four more children dying from measles-like symptoms in a 24-hour period. This brings the nationwide tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 784, of which 95 are confirmed cases, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The highly contagious viral disease is spreading rapidly. In a single day, authorities recorded 699 suspected and 74 confirmed new infections. Total suspected cases have now surged to 116,710, alongside 14,318 confirmed infections. To curb the transmission, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has aggressively responded by vaccinating over 18.48 million children since April.
Simultaneously, the country continues to battle dengue. One more dengue-related death occurred in the last 24 hours, alongside 242 new hospitalizations. Since January, dengue has claimed 33 lives and infected 10,012 individuals nationwide.
