


Two more children died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. today, bringing Bangladesh’s total measles-related death toll to 747, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest fatalities are classified as suspected measles deaths. To date, the country has recorded 93 laboratory-confirmed deaths and 654 suspected deaths.
Since the outbreak began in mid-March, Bangladesh has seen nearly 109,000 suspected cases, with 13,198 confirmed through laboratory testing. In the last 24 hours alone, health officials reported 818 new suspected cases and 128 new confirmed infections.
Hospitalization data shows that 92,031 patients have been admitted for suspected measles since March 15. Of these, 88,419 have recovered. Health authorities continue to monitor the situation as the number of infections across the country remains high.
