Preparations are urgently being accelerated by the family of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to transfer her to London for advanced medical treatment, as confirmed by BBC Bangla and multiple high-level party sources.
The transfer gained critical momentum today (December 4) following the announcement that the Qatar government is ready to provide an air ambulance in response to a request from the BNP. This development paves the way for the medical evacuation, which is deemed necessary given her "extremely critical" and "ventilator-level" health condition, suffering from severe complications including heart and lung issues.
Dr. Zubaida Rahman, the wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and a member of Khaleda Zia's medical board, is expected to arrive in Dhaka from London "very soon." Her arrival is crucial, as she will first assess the former Prime Minister's condition before accompanying her on the air ambulance flight to the UK.
Despite the critical nature of her health, the medical board, which has also been assisted by specialist teams from China and the UK (Dr. Richard Beale), has completed all logistical preparations for the overseas transfer, contingent upon her stabilizing just enough to endure air travel.
