


The Khulna district administration has distributed compensation cheques to 27 landowners affected by the Betagram-Tala-Paikgachha-Koira Road Upgradation project.
The distribution ceremony, organized by the local administration, took place at the Paikgachha Upazila Parishad auditorium on Monday (June 22).
Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Miz Hurre Jannat, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury handed the cheques directly to the beneficiaries. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Fazle Rabbi, Sonali Bank Manager Dipayan Sarkar, and other local officials attended the event.
Beneficiaries expressed relief at receiving their compensation promptly and directly from the administration, successfully bypassing brokers and middlemen.
UNO Chowdhury stated that the road project will significantly improve the local transportation network. He reaffirmed the administration's commitment to ensuring that affected residents receive their rightful funds easily and without harassment.
