Tree Planting Drive Held in Morelganj for Environment Day

To mark World Environment Day, a tree-planting and sapling distribution drive was held in Morelganj, Bagerhat. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Habibullah inaugurated the initiative by planting a tree at the Upazila Parishad premises on Sunday morning.

The program was organized by "Youth for the Sundarbans, Morelganj," under the initiative of the non-governmental development organization Rupantar.

Following the inauguration, the organizers visited Dhansagar-Pallimangal Secondary School. There, they distributed various fruit and timber saplings to students and awarded prizes to the participants of an environmental protection drawing competition.

Key local figures attended the event, including Upazila Engineer Md. Ariful Islam, Rupantar Project Coordinator Khandaker Jilani Hossain, Press Club President Mashiur Rahman Masum, Youth for the Sundarbans Vice President Mashrafe Majid Aqib, and Headmaster Md. Nazrul Islam Mollah.
