To raise awareness among the youth, the Monohardi Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee organized an anti-corruption debate competition and award ceremony at the Upazila Conference Room on Monday (June 22).
Twenty-four students comprising eight teams participated in the tournament. The young debaters presented fact-based arguments on the harmful effects of corruption, debating whether social movements or strict law enforcement are more critical to building a corruption-free nation. The lively participation and logical presentations of the students drew high praise from the audience.
At the end of the competition, Monohardi Shaheen Cadet and Scholarship Academy secured first place, while Krishnapur Adarsh High School won second place. Samia Islam Monika, a 10th-grade student from Krishnapur Adarsh High School, was named the best speaker of the tournament.
