Bhola Mobile Court Seizes 1200kg Polythene, Seals 3 Shops

A mobile court seized 1,204 kg of banned polythene shopping bags and sealed three shops during a targeted raid in Bhola city on Monday.

The operation, which ran from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, covered the Monohari Patti, Puratan Kasaipatti, and Atapatti Chawkbazar areas.

Md. Tota Mia, Assistant Director of the Bhola Environment Department, stated the drive was conducted under directives from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to crack down on the distribution of illegal plastics.

During the raid, authorities sealed three businesses for storing and selling the banned bags: Billal Store in Monohari Patti, Shamim Store in Puratan Kasaipatti, and Faruk Store in Atapatti.

Executive Magistrate Mohammad Azam led the mobile court, with the Environment Department handling the prosecution. Members of RAB-8 and the Bhola Sadar Police Station provided security and logistical support for the operation.
