Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) forces have been deployed across key areas of Dhaka to strengthen security and maintain law and order.
The BGB's Public Relations Department confirmed the deployment in a press release on Tuesday, June 23. Troops are now stationed at major points in the capital, including Dhanmondi, Shahbagh, Abrar Fahad Avenue, Bangla Motor, Karwan Bazar, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, and Mohakhali.
This action follows a Monday evening announcement confirming BGB deployments in five additional districts: Cox's Bazar, Madaripur, Sherpur, Gazipur, and Moulvibazar.
According to the BGB headquarters, the Ministry of Home Affairs directed these measures to stabilize the country's internal security and address any potential risks. BGB personnel will remain on duty until June 30, working in coordination with local district administrations and law enforcement agencies.
The force also noted that additional BGB units are on standby for rapid deployment to other districts if necessary.
