


The government has reconstituted a 10-member Cabinet Committee on National Awards to examine proposals submitted by various ministries and make recommendations regarding the presentation of national awards.
Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, has been appointed chairman of the committee. The decision was announced in a recent notification issued by the Cabinet Division.

The committee will examine nominations for national awards, recommend arrangements for formally presenting the awards, assess the need for introducing new national awards, and make recommendations on related plans.
The notification also said that the previous committee formed on February 25, 2026, has been dissolved, and the new order takes effect immediately.
A nine-member secretariat has also been formed to provide necessary support to the committee. The Cabinet Secretary will serve as its chairman, while the Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser and secretaries of the Finance, Health, Education, Commerce, Information and Broadcasting and other relevant ministries will serve as members.
