The third session of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad begins today at 3:00 pm at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka.

The day's agenda includes nominating the panel of chairmen, obituary references, a question-and-answer segment with call attention notices on urgent public matters under Rule 71 private members' resolutions and other legislative business.

Chief Whip Md. Nurul Islam Moni said the session may be short with lasting five, seven or ten days though it could be extended if needed.

Speaking to reporters at the Sangsad Bhaban on Wednesday he said forming parliamentary standing committees would be the top priority this session. "The committees concerned will be finalized as soon as we receive the names of members from the opposition" he said.

According to the Chief Whip, around six important bills are expected to be tabled including proposed legislation on property transfer, enforced disappearance and human rights protection.
