Six months after forming the government, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expanded his cabinet by inducting four new ministers and two state ministers.
The new cabinet members took their oaths of office on Friday at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban. Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir administered the oaths immediately following his own presidential swearing-in ceremony.
The four politicians inducted as full ministers are:
Abdul Moyeen Khan: BNP Standing Committee Member and Narsingdi-2 MP
Rashiduzzaman Millat: Former State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism
Sa Ching Prue Jerry: Member of Parliament for the Bandarban constituency
Andaleeve Rahman Partha: Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman and Bhola-1 MP
Additionally, Gaibandha-4 MP Mohammad Shamim Kaisar Lincoln and the Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor, Humaiun Kobir were sworn in as state ministers.
This marks the first significant cabinet expansion since the current administration took office earlier this year, a move designed to strengthen the government's leadership and operational capacity.
