FIFA handed bans to three Argentina players on Friday for their role in a brawl that broke out moments after the World Cup final against Spain with midfielder Leandro Paredes drawing the harshest punishment a 10-match suspension.
Defender Nahuel Molina was banned for seven games while Thiago Almada received a one-match suspension. An Argentina team official Roberto Ayala was also sanctioned alongside Spain's Gavi.
All those banned face fines as well.
The scuffle erupted immediately after Spain's victory in the final and FIFA's disciplinary committee has since reviewed the incident before issuing the suspensions.
