The Saudi Meteorological Department has issued severe weather warnings for multiple regions, highlighting intense heat and poor visibility in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
Authorities are urging residents, pilgrims, and expatriates to take immediate precautions as daytime temperatures spike. Strong, dust-laden winds are forecast to sweep across Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, Hail, Al-Qassim, the Eastern Region, and Najran. These extreme conditions will significantly reduce visibility, potentially disrupting daily commutes and outdoor activities.
In addition to the heat and dust, unstable weather is threatening the country’s southwestern areas. Thunderstorms accompanied by high winds are expected in Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and the mountainous terrain south of Mecca.
Given the large number of travelers and Bangladeshi expatriates currently in these regions, individuals are strongly advised to limit outdoor exposure during peak hours, stay hydrated, and monitor local weather updates closely.
