The Faridpur District Returning Officer’s office completed the distribution of ballot papers and referendum materials to local election officials on Monday. The process, which began at 11 a.m., marks a final logistical milestone for the 13th parliamentary elections and the concurrent national referendum.
Under the supervision of Additional District Magistrate Mintu Biswas, the materials were handed over to representatives from nine upazilas. The handover took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s office under heavy security provided by police and Ansar forces.
"The entire process follows strict Election Commission guidelines to ensure maximum transparency," said Biswas. "We are maintaining round-the-clock surveillance to prevent any irregularities."
The ballots will remain under the protection of Upazila Assistant Returning Officers until the day before the election, when they will be transported to individual polling stations.
District Returning Officer Mohammad Kamrul Hasan Molla emphasized the sensitivity of the operation, noting that law enforcement is working in close coordination with election officials to secure the materials.
In Faridpur's four parliamentary constituencies, 28 candidates are vying for office. The district has a total of 1,771,923 registered voters eligible to participate in the February 12 polls.
