Faridpur Poll-Ready: Ballots Dispatched to Centers for Thursday’s Voting

The ballot papers of the candidates for the 13th national parliament election, the ballots of the referendum and election equipment have started going to the polling stations from the offices of the Assistant Returning Officers.

The process started from 11 am on Wednesday from the offices of the Assistant Returning Officers of 9 upazilas of the four parliamentary constituencies of Faridpur.

Meshkatul Jannat Rabeya, Assistant Returning Officer of Faridpur-Sadar constituency, said, we are delivering the election ballot papers and equipment to the presiding officers of each polling station. The presiding officers have started taking the ballot papers to their respective polling stations under the security of the police and Ansar forces.

He said, the presiding officers in charge of 154 polling stations in Faridpur-3 constituency will receive the ballots.

In this regard, District Monitoring Officer Mohammad Kamrul Hasan Molla said, “Handing over ballot papers is a sensitive process. Therefore, we are working very carefully with the cooperation of law enforcement agencies.”

Incidentally, a total of 28 candidates are contesting the national elections in the four parliamentary constituencies of Faridpur. The total voters in the district are 17 lakh 71 thousand 923 people.
