Alleged Chattogram Crime Figure David Imon Arrested in Jashore

Police have arrested David Imon, an alleged organized crime figure from Chattogram, during an operation in Jhikargacha Upazila of Jashore. Four other suspects were also taken into custody.

The arrests were made on Wednesday during a joint operation led by Chattogram District Police.

According to police sources, Imon has long been accused of involvement in extortion, illegal firearms offenses, and other criminal activities in Chattogram. Investigators said they identified his location after questioning two of his alleged associates who were arrested earlier this week.

On Sunday night, officers from the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested two suspected associates of Imon—Md. Asif, 25, and Saidul Islam, also known as Arif, 24—during a raid in the Wazedia area along the Oxygen–Kuaish Road in Chattogram.

Police said information obtained during those arrests, combined with intelligence surveillance, helped authorities locate Imon in Jashore.

Acting on that intelligence, law enforcement officers conducted a follow-up raid in Jhikargacha and arrested David Imon along with four other individuals.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the other four suspects or announced the specific charges they may face. Police said further legal proceedings are underway.
