


Paikgachha Municipality in Khulna has unveiled a proposed budget of Tk 521.96 million (Tk 52.19 crore) for the 2026–27 fiscal year, projecting a surplus of Tk 6.38 million (Tk 63.78 lakh).
The budget was presented on Tuesday afternoon at the municipality's under-construction administrative building by Municipal Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury.
According to the proposal, the municipality expects total revenue of Tk 521.96 million, while total expenditure has been estimated at Tk 515.58 million (Tk 51.56 crore), leaving a projected surplus of Tk 6.38 million.
The budget presentation session was moderated by Mukta Biswas, Project Officer of Nobolok.
Among those who addressed the event were Municipal Executive Officer Lalu Sardar, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge of Paikgachha Police Station Golam Kibria, Municipal Engineer Lincoln Ali, and participants including Suman Das, Hafiza Khanam, Sheikh Julie, Swapna Das and Soma Das.
The event was attended by representatives of the Paikgachha Press Club, local government officials, development partners from WaterAid and Nobolok, municipal staff and residents from different wards of the municipality.
