


Lohagara Municipality in Narail has announced a proposed budget of Tk 522.34 million (Tk 52 crore 23 lakh 40 thousand 801) for the 2026-27 fiscal year, with a strong focus on development projects and municipal services.
The budget was presented on Tuesday morning at the municipal conference room by Municipal Administrator Susmita Saha.
According to the proposed budget, the municipality expects to generate Tk 49.34 million (Tk 4 crore 93 lakh 40 thousand 801) in revenue income, while revenue expenditure has been estimated at Tk 43.29 million (Tk 4 crore 32 lakh 93 thousand 189).
The proposal also allocates Tk 68 million (Tk 6 crore 80 lakh) for development activities under the Annual Development Programme (ADP), alongside Tk 405 million (Tk 40 crore 50 lakh) for project-based development initiatives.
Officials said the proposed budget aims to strengthen municipal infrastructure, improve public services, and support ongoing development projects across the municipality.
Among those attending the budget presentation were Municipal Executive Officer Tafiqul Alam, Accountant Ujjal Kanti Sarkar, Engineer Kazi Abu Sayeed Md. Jasim, Upazila Youth Development Officer Salma Jaman, Upazila Primary Education Officer Animesh Kumar Biswas, Upazila Social Services Officer Shamim Reza, and Dr. Saiyedullah Himel of Lohagara Upazila Health Complex, along with other government officials.
