


A training workshop for jute growers was held in Lohagara on Tuesday to promote modern cultivation techniques and improve jute and jute seed production.
Organized by the Lohagara Upazila Office of the Department of Jute under the Advanced Technology-Based Jute and Jute Seed Production and Extension Project of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, the workshop was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. The program was conducted under the theme, "Golden Fiber for a Golden Nation, Building a Smart Bangladesh."
The workshop was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shammi Kaisar.
Among those present were Narail District Jute Development Officer Sheikh Md. Mahabub-Ul-Islam, Lohagara Upazila Agriculture Officer Munmun Saha, Assistant Jute Officer Shimul Kumar Sarkar, Office Assistant Sharmin Akter, social worker Syed Khairul Alam, local journalists, and jute growers.
A total of 35 jute farmers from across the upazila participated in the training, where they received guidance on modern production methods, improved seed cultivation, and best agricultural practices aimed at increasing productivity and enhancing the quality of Bangladesh's traditional golden fiber.
