


The Department of Agricultural Extension organized Partner Congress 2026 in Louhajang on Tuesday to encourage agricultural modernization, improve nutrition, and develop rural entrepreneurship.
The event was held at the Louhajang Upazila Parishad Hall under the Program on Agricultural Transformation for Nutrition Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (PARTNER) for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
The congress was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Farzana Bobby Mitu, while Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Additional Deputy Director (Crops) of the Munshiganj Department of Agricultural Extension, attended as the special guest.
The program was moderated by Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Rukaiya Sharmin, and the welcome address was delivered by Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Hasan-Ud-Daula.
Among the speakers were Upazila Cooperative Officer Abdul Kader, Headmaster of Holdia Government High School Md. Rafiqul Islam, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Shafiqul Islam, agricultural entrepreneur Yamin, farmer Md. Obaidur Rahman Himu, and woman farmer Liza Akter.
Speakers said the PARTNER project aims to modernize agriculture, strengthen nutrition security, and create rural entrepreneurs. The congress also highlighted strategies for building climate-resilient farming systems to address the challenges posed by climate change.
Local farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs welcomed the initiative, expressing their commitment to adopting modern farming technologies to improve productivity and achieve greater economic self-reliance.
