DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed announced the update while speaking to reporters after inaugurating the new cameras on Lake Road under the Tejgaon Traffic Division at the office of the deputy commissioner of traffic in Tejgaon.

He said AI cameras had earlier been set up at 15 intersections and Tuesday's addition raised the count to 19.

"So far 1,500 traffic cases have been filed through the AI camera system and summons have been issued to the owners of 38,000 vehicles," he said.

The commissioner added that fine amounts vary depending on the nature of the offence and the traffic division keeps updated records of total fines collected.

He also said work is underway to install AI-powered cameras at other major intersections across Dhaka as part of broader efforts to strengthen traffic management and enforcement in the capital.
