


All 12 crew members of a lighter vessel were rescued after the cargo ship MV Bay Harbor 2 sank in the Karnaphuli River early Tuesday, authorities said.
The vessel, carrying a shipment of stone to Dhaka, went down at around 3:00 a.m. in the Karnaphuli shipping channel.
According to the Bangladesh Coast Guard, rescue operations began immediately after the vessel sank. Rescue teams successfully located and brought all 12 crew members to safety. No fatalities or injuries were immediately reported.
Port officials said the location of the sunken vessel has been identified and that shipping traffic through the Karnaphuli channel remains normal.
The cause of the sinking has not yet been disclosed, and authorities are expected to investigate the incident.
