


Phulbari Municipality in Dinajpur has announced a proposed budget of Tk 626.82 million (Tk 62.68 crore) for the 2026–27 fiscal year, alongside a revised budget for FY2025–26.
The budget was unveiled on Monday during a public consultation meeting at the Phulbari Municipality auditorium by Municipal Administrator and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Samiul Islam.
According to the proposal, the municipality expects to generate Tk 623.36 million in total revenue during the upcoming fiscal year. Of that amount, Tk 59.17 million will come from Revenue Component-1, Tk 190,500 from Revenue Component-2, and Tk 564 million from development funds.
Total expenditure has been estimated at Tk 624.08 million, including Tk 59.96 million under Revenue Component-1, Tk 119,000 under Revenue Component-2, and Tk 564 million allocated for development projects.
The budget includes an opening balance of Tk 3.29 million. The projected closing balances are Tk 2.50 million for Revenue Component-1 and approximately Tk 240,000 for Revenue Component-2, bringing the total proposed budget to Tk 626.82 million.
Municipal officials, representatives from government agencies, local institutions, civil society organizations, and community leaders attended the budget presentation.
Earlier in the day, the municipality also held a meeting of the Town Level Coordination Committee (TLCC) at the municipal auditorium to discuss development priorities and municipal governance.
