Police have arrested a businessman named Aminul Islam in a loan default case in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha. On Thursday evening, the Sundargajna Police Station arrested him from his business establishment in Naldanga Bazar of Sadullapur upazila. He is a pot and plastic utensils trader.
The arrested Aminul Islam is the son of Abdus Salam of Dakshin Sahabaj village of Sarbananda Union of Sundarganj upazila. Confirming the arrest, Sundarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hakim Azad said that Aminul Islam was arrested on an arrest warrant in a bank loan default case. He was sent to the learned court on the following Friday. According to the Naldanga Agrani Bank PLC branch, Aminul Islam took a short-term (CC) loan of Tk 20 lakh from Agrani Bank PLC Naldanga branch under a regular repayment agreement.
He has been making excuses for a long time to repay the loan taken. In the meantime, the term of his loan agreement has expired. In such a situation, when Aminul Islam failed to repay the loan on time, the manager of that bank filed a case at the Gaibandha Financial Loan Court as the plaintiff for loan default
The plaintiff in the case said that Aminul Islam took a CC loan from this branch and did not repay it on time. A case has been filed against
