


A seven-day tree plantation campaign and tree fair was inaugurated in Lakshmipur on Monday (August 10), centered around the theme, "Vrikkharopone Sajai Desh, Sobar Age Bangladesh" (Decorate the country through tree plantation, Bangladesh comes first).
The event was jointly organized by the District Administration and the Department of Forest at the District Collectorate premises.
The program commenced with a colorful rally, followed by the official inauguration where Deputy Commissioner SM Mehedi Hasan released balloons and cut a ribbon to mark the opening of the fair.
The inaugural discussion was presided over by Molla Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Divisional Forest Officer (Deputy Conservator of Forests) of the Noakhali Coastal Forest Department. Among those present were Superintendent of Police Md. Abu Taarek, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Baharul Alam, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension (Lakshmipur) Agriculturist Zahir Ahmed, Assistant Director of the Environment Department (Lakshmipur) Harun Or Rashid Pathan, and Assistant Conservator of Forests Mostafa Al Hossain, among others.
Following the opening ceremony, guests visited various nursery stalls. A total of 18 nursery stalls are participating in the fair. Later, a discussion session was held in the auditorium, where saplings were distributed among students.
