A tree plantation drive was held across various educational institutions in Kalia, Narail organized by Pubali Bank PLC in collaboration with the Upazila administration on Wednesday.
The program kicked off at 11:30 AM at the Kalia Upazila Parishad premises where tree saplings were distributed among heads of local educational institutions. Following the distribution, the plantation drive was formally inaugurated on the grounds of Kalia Government Pilot Model Secondary School.
Kalia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Jinnatul Islam inaugurated the event as the chief guest. School Headmaster Tarun Kanti Mallick, Naragati Thana BNP General Secretary Sheikh Bulbul Kabir and Pubali Bank PLC Kalia Sub-branch Manager Ajit Kumar Sarkar were present alongside bank officials, teachers and students.
Speaking at the event UNO Md. Jinnatul Islam highlighted the essential role of tree planting in protecting ecological balance and encouraging students to build green, environment-friendly campuses.
