PM Inaugurates Three Villages as 'SDG Village' Pilot Project

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman officially inaugurated three villages in Bangladesh as part of the 'SDG Village' pilot project, aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Prime Minister inaugurated the project virtually from the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Center on Monday (August 10) at 12:30 PM.

The three villages selected for this pilot project are:

Mitingachhari Village in Kaptai Upazila, Rangamati

Pankhali Village in Dacope Upazila, Khulna

Nafanagar Village in Bochaganj Upazila, Dinajpur

Operated under the project titled "Redefining Economic Strategies for Sustainable Development of the Country," this initiative will focus on implementing the 17 SDG goals across these locations.

Under this program, phase-by-phase steps will be taken in these villages to eradicate poverty, address waterlogging and agricultural land drainage issues, ensure quality education, improve healthcare services, reduce maternal and child mortality, and expand access to safe drinking water and modern sanitation facilities.

Residents of the three villages expressed deep excitement and sincere gratitude for being included in this welfare initiative by the government.
