SSC Results in Phulbari: Overall Pass Rate 54.16%, Highest 83.10%, Lowest 4.17%

A mixed picture has emerged from the 2026 SSC examination results in Phulbari Upazila under Dinajpur district. While several schools performed well among the 33 educational institutions in the upazila, the pass rate for a significant number of schools fell below 50 percent.

Among these institutions, Bir Muktijoddha Institute achieved the highest pass rate at 83.10 percent, while Astrabari Adarsha High School logged the lowest at 4.17 percent.

An analysis of the center-based exam results across the upazila shows that a total of 1,900 candidates took part in the exams from 33 institutions. Out of these, 1,029 students passed, making the overall pass rate for the upazila 54.16 percent. At the top of the performance chart, Bir Muktijoddha Institute saw 59 out of 71 candidates pass, achieving an 83.10 percent pass rate with 20 students securing GPA-5.

Chourai Maheshpur High School recorded a 71.74 percent pass rate, with 66 out of 92 students passing and 5 receiving GPA-5.

Sujapur Government Model High School also turned in a strong performance, with 192 out of 256 examinees passing, yielding a 75 percent pass rate. The school produced the highest number of GPA-5 achievers in the upazila with 46 students. The most disappointing result was recorded at Astrabari Adarsha High School, where only 1 candidate passed out of 24 examinees, resulting in the upazila's lowest pass rate of just 4.17 percent.

A total of 90 students achieved GPA-5 across the upazila this year. Sujapur Government Model High School led the count with 46 students, followed by Bir Muktijoddha Institute with 20, Phulbari Golam Mostafa Pilot High School with 5, and Chourai Maheshpur High School with 5.

Additionally, Siddishi High School had 3 GPA-5 achievers, while Chandpara High School and Khayerbari Manmohan Girls' High School had 2 each. One student each secured GPA-5 from Goalpara, Phulbari Girls' Pilot, Uttar Lakshmipur School and College, Chakmathurashi M High School, Rangamati, Saraswatipur, and Daulatpur Union High School.

Educationists and local conscious citizens noted that while a few institutions demonstrated merit-based excellence, the results of schools with pass rates below 50 percent remain a matter of concern. They emphasized the need to identify the underlying causes of student lag, improve teaching quality, conduct regular evaluations, and provide extra attention to students in these underperforming institutions.
