Achraf Hakimi delivered a masterclass performance, scoring a hat-trick and providing two assists as Paris Saint-Germain thrashing bottom-placed Le Havre 5-1 on Friday. The victory extended PSG's winning streak to nine games across all competitions and kept them top of Ligue 1 with 20 points from nine matches.

Le Havre briefly surprised the European champions when Josh Maja opened the scoring in the 18th minute. However the PSG responded swiftly. Hakimi set up Mika Godts for the equalizer before scoring himself in the 28th minute to give PSG a 2-1 halftime lead.

The Moroccan fullback dominated the second half, curling home a free-kick in the 55th minute and setting up Senny Mayulu for PSG's fourth goal. Hakimi completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute with a deflected strike. PSG manager Luis Enrique praised his squad's depth also noting that injury absences created valuable first-team opportunities for young prospects Quentin Ndjantou and David Boly.

Elsewhere in Ligue 1, second-placed Lille secured a 1-0 derby win against RC Lens courtesy of an 86th-minute rebound goal from veteran substitute Olivier Giroud. Meanwhile Nice thrashed third-placed Rennes 5-2, led by an outstanding Elye Wahi hat-trick.

In the German Bundesliga, newcomer Elversberg continued an impressive top-flight run with a 4-1 victory over Mainz, scoring three first-half goals to climb into fifth place. In Spain's La Liga, Espanyol halted a dismal streak under interim coach Sergio García with edging Villarreal 1-0 thanks to a 60th-minute strike from captain Leandro Cabrera.
