


Two people died from electrocution in separate incidents in Nageshwari upazila of Kurigram on Monday.
The first incident occurred around 10:30 AM in the Fakirtari Bagdanga area of Nageshwari municipality. Local sources said Mahbubul Hasan Muhith, son of Shahinur Alam, received a fatal electric shock while connecting an Instant Power Supply (IPS) battery at his home.
In a separate incident around 12:00 PM, a wedding celebration turned into tragedy in the Kuti Bamandanga area of Bamandanga union. Sabu Mia, son of Mojibur Rahman, was electrocuted while connecting a sound box for the event.
Both victims were rushed to the Nageshwari Upazila Health Complex, where attending doctors declared them dead.
Dr. Sujan Saha, the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, confirmed the fatalities, stating that both individuals had passed away before reaching the hospital.
Public Safety Notice: Local authorities urge residents to exercise extreme caution and disconnect main power supplies when handling home appliances, IPS units, or sound systems.
