Govt to Provide Free Education for Girls Up to Masters: MP Abul Khair

The government has allocated a record budget for the education sector with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announcing free education and stipends for girls up to the Master’s level stated Lakshmipur-2 MP Abul Khair Bhuiyan.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the Shyamganj High School hall in Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon Bhuiyan emphasized the administration's commitment to women's empowerment. “Women make up half our population. Without their active participation, the country cannot progress,” he noted.

Addressing primary school teachers, the MP urged them to prioritize quality education and guide students carefully. He also highlighted the gradual integration of religious education into the primary curriculum to ensure students receive comprehensive learning locally eliminating the need to seek it elsewhere.

Bhuiyan reaffirmed the government's vision of building a modern science-based and globally competitive education system underpinned by the highest-ever education budget.

The event was chaired by Shyamganj High School Management Committee President Anwar Hossain Tipu. Notable attendees included former Sadar (West) BNP Convener Abdul Karim Bhuiyan Mizan, Headmaster Selim Hossain Jhantu and former management committee president Abdur Rahim.
