Iran’s Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei has declared the country's backing of the resistance front as a “strategic mandate” in a formal letter to Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem.

The correspondence came in response to a recent letter from Hezbollah reaffirming its allegiance to the Iranian leadership. In his message, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Lebanese group for standing "like an unyielding rock" against relentless Israeli aggression.

He emphasized that Hezbollah’s steadfastness serves as a powerful inspiration for nations seeking liberation from global tyranny. Reaffirming the policies established by his predecessor, the late Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, he stated that defending Lebanon's "oppressed yet powerful mujahideen" remains a core obligation for the Islamic Republic.

Crucially, the Iranian Leader outlined non-negotiable terms for any potential ceasefire or peace agreement in the region. He stated that the preservation of Lebanon's territorial integrity and the "absolute and unconditional termination" of Israeli aggression are the primary and indispensable prerequisites for ending the imposed conflict.

The letter, released by the Leader’s office paid tribute to the resilience of the Lebanese people, particularly those in the heavily bombarded southern regions. It also honored the memory of Hezbollah’s late Secretary-General, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah and other fallen commanders, crediting them with transforming the Islamic Resistance into a formidable and enduring regional force.

Ayatollah Khamenei concluded by offering prayers for the martyrs, the wounded and the displaced civilians who have endured severe hardships during the ongoing war, reiterating his belief that steadfast resistance remains the only viable path forward against current global oppressions.
